The GP100® double-action revolver, which is still in production today, replaced the Police Service-Six®, Security-Six®, and Speed-Six® revolvers. Service-Six® revolvers were first introduced in 1971 and were in production through 1987. It has a square butt grip frame featuring checkered walnut grip panels with silver-colored Ruger eagle medallions.
